A man in Beijing took his Video Game Addiction to a whole new level when he themed a restaurant in a 'World of Warcraft" or 'WoW' style. When entering the restaurant the entrance has been made to match the start of the game. When inside everywhere you look, aside from the tables and chairs has been made to duplicate the scenery in the 'World of Warcraft' video game. Large projection televisions show game play while you dine. Complete with statues of video game characters and murals on the walls it is clear that this video game addiction has gone to far.
Who's Affected By Video Game Addiction?
Although Video Game Addiction has not been defined as an actual addiction as of 2009 it is a real problem for people all over the world. Video Game Addiction statistics seem to show be a bigger problem among teens and adult males. In 2007 a Harris Poll showed that 23% of children ages 8 - 18 would consider their selves addicts. Until the ADA officially defines Video Game Addiction, statistics are only going to be at best educated guesses.
